Passion 2012

Two words. Life changing. OK, I know what you may be thinking. Passion is just another conference. You go get on a spiritual high and come home and crash two weeks later. I know this because that is what I was thinking the first time I was asked to go.

I want to share that Passion is nothing like that! I want to say it is a life changing, Christ-centered, gospel-driven type of an event. Every time I have attended a Passion conference I have walked away feeling like the gospel has sunken deeper into my bones! I sense that the Lord has used it in my life to draw me deeper into Himself and what He is doing around the world.

The conference is Jan 2-5. There are main sessions, breakout sessions, community groups, and a Do Something Now area. The Do Something Now area is an interactive area where you learn about Christ-centered organizations around the world helping the least of these. This always brings me to my knees. The neatest thing is to see 20,000 people in the body of Christ coming together to really make a huge difference. It really spoke to my heart about what it looks like to be the body of Christ, not just in our local church but throughout the world.

If you are 18-26 and are interested in having your heart challenged and your walk with God strengthened, then I would say you should pray about going to Passion 2012. There will be a group of us going from OGC. There are some spots left in the hotel. We would love more to be able to come as we go and worship Him together!

The cost is $199 through December 1st and $219 through January. Two lunches are provided but keep in mind to plan for the cost of food and hotel. To that end, Passion 2012 is more than just another event, it’s a beautiful part of a movement that’s about finding true meaning as we take our place in a story so much bigger than ourselves. It’s about trading small dreams for a grand epic that is shaping history and has no end. And it’s about a rare chance for tens of thousands of university-aged young people to gather in celebration of their common faith purpose.In years past we have hosted multiple venues at our Atlanta gathering, but in 2012 we are moving across the street into the Georgia Dome, a larger venue we are setting at half-house so we can all see each other’s faces in one shared space. Passion 2012 will be a unique gathering, one that most likely will not be repeated in 2013. We want you to be there… and we are inviting you to join the movement for His renown!
